Cumulus Media announces the following promotions: Bob Raleigh, Cumulus-Knoxville OM/PD at Country WIVK, adds the title of Corporate Program Director. Davey Morris, PD at WWKX and PM drive host at WPRO-FM/Providence, adds duties as Cumulus Corporate Program Director. Morris will take on a select group of Cumulus CHR and CHR/Rhythmic stations throughout the Cumulus contemporary platform.
Brad Paul is exiting the VP/Promotion post at Rounder Records effective November 16. Paul had been with the label for 29 years.
Veteran programmer Mark Bolke will be leaving his position as VP/COO of A-Ware Software, the developers of MusicMaster Scheduling software, effective December 31.
As first reported last week, Shamrock Communications has relaunched Modern Rock KRZQ/Reno and the station officially debuted yesterday (11/12). The station launched at 1:05 p.m. yesterday with the Beastie Boys' "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)."
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment-Los Angeles appoints James Harness (a.k.a. Skortch) as Imaging Director for KIIS-FM and KYSR (98-7fm) effective immediately. Harness and fellow Imaging Director Forrest Martin will work as a team at CCM+E-L.A. "Skortch is very skilled and creative," said John Ivey, CCM+E SVP of Programming. "He brings not only a fresh perspective to these stations, but also understands the market and the competitive landscape. Warner Music Group has officially joined in the bidding for Sony/ATV's Rosetta catalog, reports the New York Post. The latest bids for the catalog, which consists primarily of '80s hits from Devo, Tears For Fears and others, are due by November 19. Last month, it was reported that Sony/ATV was putting the Rosetta catalog on the market.
MTV Head of Programming David Janollari has stepped down after two years in the position. The Los Angeles Times reports that Susanne Daniels has been named the network's new President of Programming. Daniels had been a top executive at The WB and Lifetime and championed such shows as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva. Van Toffler, President of MTV Music and Logo Group, told the paper, "Susanne’s delivered more breakthrough pop culture hits in one decade than most producers do in their entire lifetimes."
Universal Music Group announces an agreement with social marketing and analytics company Moontoast. As part of this agreement, UMG will "utilize Moontoast’s social commerce and analytics platform to launch, promote and sell music, merchandise and related goods through digital and social channels including Facebook, artist websites and artist fan sites."
