One Direction
One Direction drew a record-breaking crowd to Rockefeller Plaza in New York City this morning where fans gathered to watch their performance on the Today show. The 15,000 in attendance was bigger than any crowd in the show's history, according to co-host Al Roker. The boys of 1D kicked off the concert with a performance of "What Makes You Beautiful" and followed that up by talking with co-hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. "We are going to do our first-ever movie and it's going to be in 3-D and it's coming to cinemas near you on the 30th of August, 2013," Niall Horan revealed during the interview. Documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) is set to direct the film, which TriStar Pictures will release over Labor Day weekend. The group also sang "Live While We're Young" and "Little Things" as part of their Today performance.

fun. and singer Ne-Yo have been added to the lineup for The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night. They join previously announced performers Luke Bryan and Maroon 5, and LL Cool J and Taylor Swift will co-host the one-hour special. The show, which will announce nominations in several categories, will take place live at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, December 5, and will be broadcast on CBS from 10 – 11 p.m. ET/PT (9 p.m. Central). Additional performers and presenters will be announced shortly.

Filmmaker Ridley Scott and several collaborators are compiling a user-generated documentary about Bruce Springsteen called Springsteen & I. Fans are being asked to make their own short films about Springsteen and what he means to them, including personal insights and reflections on how his music has affected their lives. The directors are also looking for photographs, old footage or audio narration, and the files will be able to be uploaded through the film's website, www.springsteenandi.com, starting on November 15. Springsteen & I is targeted for a theatrical release in 2013.

WWE, USA Network and NBC will honor the United States Armed Forces with its 10th annual holiday special, WWE Tribute to the Troops, on Wednesday, December 19 at 9 p.m. EST on USA Network and as a one-hour television special on Saturday, December 22 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC. The holiday special will feature performances by Kid Rock, Flo Rida and more.

Alice In Chains has announced their first two shows of 2013.  They will be performing at the Download Festival in Donington Park, England on June 14, and they will be joining Metallica at Rock in Rio 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 13.

Metric has teamed with Tumblr to unveil the video for "Breathing Underwater," the latest single from its Synthetica album. The premiere of "Breathing Underwater" is accompanied by a SoundCloud set featuring three versions of the song: the original album version, the Synthetica Reflections version, and an acoustic version. The acoustic "Breathing Underwater" will be the first taste of the five extra songs on Synthetica Deluxe, being released digitally November 20 and physically December 4. The other all-acoustic bonus tracks are versions of "Youth Without Youth" and the album's title track, plus "Gimme Sympathy" from the band's previous Fantasies and a rarely heard cover of Tom Waits' "Strange Weather."

INXS has confirmed that they are officially calling it quits after 35 years and 11 studio albums together. "We understand that this must come as a blow to everybody, but all things must eventually come to an end," founding members Tim, Andrew and Jon Farriss, Kirk Pengilly and Garry Beers said in a statement. "We have been performing as a band for 35 years, it's time to step away from the touring arena. Our music will of course live on and we will always be a part of that. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the friends and family that have supported us throughout our extensive career. Our lives have been enriched by having you all as a part of the journey." INXS recently released a 25th anniversary edition of its top-selling album, Kick, as well as a 20th anniversary edition of the DVD Live Baby Live.

John Fogerty will publish a memoir with Little, Brown and Co. that is due in 2014. The former frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival said in a statement: "I want to tell the story of how I fought - hard - to maintain my artistic integrity in the face of opposing forces... The kid from El Cerrito wanted to be the best musician in the world - my promise to myself. I accomplished that goal against all odds, only to have it fall apart on top of me. The songs and the music stopped; you didn't hear from John Fogerty for years. All of this took its toll on me. I couldn't write a song, sing a song. And it was so hard on me, all of the lawsuits and betrayals. I was personally fading away. My story will share the ups and downs and how it all affected me. The road back was a bumpy one, and I knew that it would take years to come out of it, but I did."

A new eBook called Experiencing Nirvana: Grunge in Europe, 1989 is now available exclusively on Apple's iBookstore. The book is a photo journal of the band's first European tour featuring dozens of never-before seen early photographs of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana's original lineup. Published by Sub Pop founder Bruce Pavitt, the digital book chronicles Nirvana's 1989 maiden voyage overseas from a truly intimate perspective for the first time. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will go to the Vera Project (http://theveraproject.org/) in Seattle, which is an all-ages volunteer fueled music and arts venue.
