Ne-Yo, Aerosmith Score Top 5 Debuts

Taylor Swift's Red holds down the #1 spot on the sales chart once again this week by shifting another 196,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Red is now the first album from Swift to spend its first three straight weeks at #1, and it has sold 1.7 million copies to date. Coming in at #2 this week is the latest NOW 44 collection, which arrives with 99,000 sold, marking the 43rd straight title in the NOW series to debut in the Top 10. Rod Stewart occupies the #3 slot with Merry Christmas, Baby, selling 74,000 in its second frame, and R&B crooner Ne-Yo scores a #4 bow this week with his new album - also called R.E.D. - moving 66,000 units. R.E.D. is Ne-Yo's fifth straight Top 10 album. Taking a bow at #5, Aerosmith returns with its first album of original material since 2001 with Music From Another Dimension. The CD sold 63,000 copies in its opening week.

In the back half of the Top 10, Jason Aldean's Night Train chugs to #6 this week with 48,000, Mumford & Sons' Babel holds at #7 with just over 41,000, and Meek Mill's Dreams and Nightmares is #8 with just about 41,000 sold. Kendrick Lamar's Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City descends to #9 this week with 40,000, and Christian band Third Day takes a bow at #10 with their album, Miracle, shifting 29,000 units.
