Director of Programming & Operations Rob Sidney and Lincoln Financial AC WLYF/Miami have agreed to a contract extension.

Hot AC WFLC/Miami and morning co-host Donny Michaels have parted ways leaving co-host Julie Guy to go it alone.

Cox Media Group-Miami has named new sales leadership as it better aligns its sales strategy and collaboration between the four radio stations, WFLC 97.3 FM, WFEZ 93.1 FM, WEDR 99.1 FM and WHQT 105.1 FM. The new assignments include: Jo Castro as GSM for WEDR and WHQT. Previously, Castro was GSM of WEDR-FM. Mumball as GSM of Marketing Services. Previously, Mumball was GSM of WHQT-FM. Francisco Luciano as GSM of WFLC and WFEZ. Previously, Luciano was GSM for WALR-FM, WSB-FM and WSRV-FM with CMG-Atlanta. Tony Yip as LSM of WEDR, WFLC, WHQT & WFEZ. Previously, Yip was GSM of WFLC-FM.

Cox Media Group is lending its support to the communities in the Northeast by donating a combined $75,000 to aid relief efforts in Southern Connecticut, Long Island and surrounding areas of New York City, that have begun the long journey to recover from Superstorm Sandy. CMG’s contribution will be shared with charities identified as having some of the greatest need by Cox Reps New York, CMG Connecticut and CMG Long Island radio stations. Earlier this week, CMG’s parent company, Cox Enterprises in partnership with The James M. Cox Foundation, announced a combined cash donation of $100,000 to the American Red Cross to assist the relief and recovery efforts of the communities affected by Hurricane Sandy. 

SiriusXM is turning on all its inactive radio receivers around the country starting tomorrow (11/15). The Motley Fool reports the promotion will run up to November 27, with the satcaster hoping to encourage former customer to return. Listeners won't have access to the full slate of SiriusXM channels, but will be able to hear the satcaster's basic stations.

Viacom Music Group expands its artist platform offering to now include VH1 with the beta launch of Artists.VH1, a new front door for artists to have their music showcased across VH1’s multiple channels and screens. The first on-air integration will take place during 2012 VH1 Divas debuting live on Sunday, December 16 at 9pm ET/PT.
     "With the launch of Artists.VH1, we’re filling a major void in the digital music space  by providing non mainstream pop artists and their fans direct access to one  another reflective of what we deliver on air with our Storytellers and You Oughta Know franchises," said Tom Calderone, President of VH1. "The platform offers both  established and emerging artists a homestead where they can have more access to  their presence across our screens to control their image and opt into a myriad of opportunities including music video rotation and song integration in our programs that will generate both exposure and revenue."
