One Direction's second album, Take Me Home, lands atop the SoundScan/Billboard sales chart this week with 540,000 copies sold. This gives the boy band their second #1 album in the past year, as well as the third largest sales week of 2012, behind Taylor Swift and Mumford & Sons.
One Direction's debut, Up All Night, landed at #1 upon its release back in March, with 176,000 copies sold. This feat also made them the first UK act whose debut release arrived at #1 in its first week in the sales chart's history, according to Billboard.

Taylor Swift's Red moves to #2 after three weeks on top. Rod Stewart's Merry Christmas, Baby comes in at #6, even though it saw an overall increase in sales. The latest NOW compilation lands at #8.
