Eric Clapton and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have joined the super-star lineup for the 12/12/12 Benefit Concert in Madison Square Garden, set for next Wednesday, December 12. Clapton and Martin are joining Bon Jovi, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney. Proceeds will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which will benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Yahoo! has released its Year in Review which takes a look at the search trends of the millions of users of Yahoo!'s search engine. The top-searched-for musician of 2012 was Whitney Houston, who passed away earlier this year. Jennifer Lopez was ranked second, followed by Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Britney Spears. The top 10 is rounded out by Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Chris Brown and Taylor Swift. The most-searched songs/lyrics for the year were "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, PSY's "Gangnam Style," "Someone Like You" from Adele, Gotye's hit "Somebody That I Used To Know" and "Sexy And I Know It" from LMFAO.

Lady Gaga has been thrilled: she purchased 55 items once owned by the late Michael Jackson at an auction over the weekend. Gaga reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars Jackson's various belongings, including $240,000 on the jacket he wore on the Bad tour. Gaga tweeted, "The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared for in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & fans worldwide." Some of the over $5 million proceeds of the auction will benefit Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.

Viacom and T-Mobile have announced The Big & Best of 2012: A Year End Celebration Presented by T-Mobile, a cross-network, eight hour digital livestream event that will highlight the music, personalities and pop culture moments that defined the past year. The livestream will kickoff on 12/12/12 at 12 PM EST and be hosted at bigandbestof2012.com. The event will play out across Viacom’s digital properties including MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com and ComedyCentral.com, and will include eight hours of original programming and highlights spanning MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, CMT and MTV2. The special will include Carly Rae Jepsen revealing her top five moments of the year, as well as performances from Grace Potter, Metric, Alt-J, Thompson Square, First Aid Kit and Dustin Lynch. Additional performers and celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.

Arcade Fire played a secret show under the alias "Les Identiks" on their home turf of Montreal this weekend. They debuted some new songs from their next album. The Vine reports that only around 100 guests attended the elite show, all of who agreed to a no phone/video/photo policy to avoid the band's new material being leaked. There is no scheduled date for the release of the album, but it could be out as soon as late next year. The new songs were described as "heavily percussive, long, and 'fun, dancy-y and groovy'."

Veteran Prog Rockers Dream Theater have resigned with Roadrunner Records. Dream Theater first signed with Roadrunner in 2007 for the band's ninth studio album, Systematic Chaos.  Dream Theater will be recording a new album as part of their new agreement with Roadrunner. The band commented, "We are all very excited to be re-signing with Roadrunner Records! Over the past 5 years from the release of Systematic Chaos to our latest A Dramatic Turn of Events, we've developed strong creative and professional bonds with everyone at Roadrunner as well as many great friendships along the way."
