More details continue to emerge about Dave Grohl's Sound City documentary. The film officially has a February 1 release date, and pre-orders for a DRM-free digital download of the entire movie are now up at soundcitymovie.com for $10. Grohl also guest-hosted Chelsea Lately on E! last night, where he discussed the Grammys, made up songs about celebrities and interviewed Ray Romano.

Alice In Chains

Alice In Chains have finished recording a new record, expected out in 2013. Jerry Cantrell recently confirmed the news to Guitar World. The band announced online today that they will debut a new tune, "Hollow," on December 18 via www.aliceinchains.com/hollow. AIC is gradually releasing the lyrics to the song via an Instagram contest with their fans.

After weeks of rumors, The Rolling Stones have officially joined the lineup of the 12/12/12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert at Madison Square Garden. Billboard reports the announcement was made at a press conference today in New York City. The concert fits right between the Stones' upcoming anniversary shows in Brooklyn on December 8 and the two gigs in northern New Jersey on December 13 and 15. At the press conference, organizers also announced a number of celebrities would be on hand as part of the event, including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jon Stewart, Adam Sandler, Chelsea Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more.

Phoenix will release a new album in 2013, the follow-up to their breakthrough 2009 record Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Glassnote Records head Daniel Glass confirmed the news at Spotify's press event on Thursday, reports Rolling Stone. Glass said he had just spoken to the French indie rock band on the phone that day, and that they had completed the new album in a studio in Paris.

Although Babel is nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, Mumford & Sons have no plans to rest on their laurels. Banjo player Winston Marshall told NME: "Will we wait years for the next album? F**k, no. You heard it here first. We've just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They're bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones." Marshall also gave a hint about the band's tour plans, saying, "We're gonna do more Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover festivals in 2013."

Alicia Keys raised more than $1.3 million at her Black Ball Redux charity event on Thursday night, which benefits Keep A Child Alive. Keys' charity assists those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Thursday's gala was originally planned for November 1, but was canceled due to Superstorm Sandy. "There are places in the world where Keep a Child Alive serves where they have a Hurricane Sandy every day," Keys told the press on the red carpet. "They don't have electricity, they don't have heat... and that made me more invigorated to make sure this Black Ball happened."

This year's list of performers for VH1 Divas has expanded to include Natasha Bedingfield, Keri Hilson, Ledisi, Iggy Azalea and Bootsy Collins. Set for December 16, the show also will feature Kelly Clarkson, Melanie Fiona, Metric, Pitbull, Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks. The special will honor dance music divas, including the late Whitney Houston.

Arcade Fire recently debuted a handful of new songs at a secret show, as the band works on their anticipated fourth album. Now the band's manager Scott Rodger has confirmed the indie rockers have been working in the studio with producer/ex-LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy. Rodger told Musicweek, "Murphy on three or so songs, plus Markus Dravs who is a long-time collaborator. They write too many songs — that’s a good problem to have. There’s around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums’-worth for sure."
