January 8, 2013

After Justin Bieber hinted via Twitter that he will be appearing on Saturday Night Live this season, a source confirmed to Billboard that the Pop star will indeed be pulling double-duty as host and musical guest. The Biebs will take over SNL on the February 9 episode. Meanwhile, his Believe Acoustic album is due on January 29, and yesterday he tweeted out two song titles: "I Would" and "Yellow Raincoat." Bieber added, "I got some things to say. #23Days #11Songs #BELIEVEacoustic #COUNTDOWN."

Paramore is giving fans the first clip of music from the their upcoming release in a new, short video clip. The band's single, "Now," will be released on January 22, and their self-titled fourth album will be in stores on April 9. Check out the video clip below:

Rick Ross has revealed that his upcoming sixth album will be titled Mastermind. The Miami emcee took to Twitter on Monday afternoon and sent out a link to a cinematic trailer for the LP, set to the tune of some classic Curtis Mayfield. The album is due sometime in 2013, though it's not clear exactly when it will surface.

U2 guitarist The Edge has expanded his Music Rising charity initiative with a new Hurricane Sandy relief fund. Music Rising will donate an initial $250,000 to help rebuild school music programs in the tri-state area that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. The organization originally was founded in 2005 to rebuild music programs on the Gulf Coast that were impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

The tracklist has been revealed for the 2013 Grammy Nominees compilation, set for release on Capitol Records on January 22. The 22-song release includes The Black Keys' "Lonely Boy," Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "Somebody That I Used To Know" from Gotye, fun.'s smash "We Are Young," Carly Rae Jepsen's massive "Call Me Maybe" and many other Grammy-nominated songs from the past year.

Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher is prepping for his band's second album, and he told NME that this new work is the record Oasis should have made after (What's The Story) Morning Glory? The frontman also declared that Beady Eye has shown no fear on their sophomore effort. "This is the record Oasis should have made after (What's The Story) Morning Glory?," he stated. "I'm not saying it's better than Be Here Now or it's going to be this or that - I love Be Here Now. I won't have a bad word said about it but when you're selling 20 million records, you've got people there going, 'Oh let's just chuck out that formula again.' So I'm a bit disappointed we didn't ever do it. But this f**king record: we've booted the door off the hinges and steamed right in there, into this other world."

Atoms For Peace - the band featuring Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, producer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco - have debuted the studio version of their song, "Judge Jury and Executioner." The track was aired on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show on Monday and can now be heard on YouTube. The band will release their debut album, Amok, on February 25 via XL.

Tegan and Sara have announced a headlining tour in support of their new album, Heartthrob, which will drop on January 29 via Warner Bros. Records. Dates are set to begin on January 25 in Richmond, VA and wrap on April 14 in Tucson, AZ. Tegan and Sara also can be seen performing on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on January 31.

Brandy, Jill Scott, Keyshia Cole and Maxwell are among the performers set for the 2013 Essence Festival, which returns to New Orleans in July. The event will be held from July 4-7 at the Superdome and the nearby convention center, where speakers like Rev. Al Sharpton and Rep. John Lewis will give lectures, according to the New York Times. Other performers on the roster include New Edition, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane and Charlie Wilson.
