Britney Spears will be leaving the X Factor after one season at the judges table, according to multiple reports. Sources close to the show confirmed to MTV News that the singer won't be coming back after the X Factor received lackluster ratings in this past season, and TMZ also quoted a source as saying that while Spears loves the show, she's focused on recording her eighth studio album right now. It was previously reported that the singer has been in the studio working on tracks with producers Hit-Boy and will.i.am, and she is mulling a tour to support the as-yet-untitled new effort.

The Adele track "Skyfall" from the latest James Bond film has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. "Skyfall" is the first Oscar nominated song in 10 years to have also been a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 chart, Billboard reports. The track will be competing with "Before My Time" from Chasing Ice; "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" from Ted; "Pi's Lullaby" from Life of Pi; and "Suddenly" from Les Misérables.

The People's Choice Awards were handed out Wednesday night, and in the music categories, Katy Perry and One Direction were the big winners. Perry won four awards, including Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Music Video for "Part Of Me." One Direction won Favorite Album for Up All Night and Favorite Song for "What Makes You Beautiful." Other music winners included Jason Mraz, Maroon 5, The Wanted, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.

Dave Grohl has revealed his lineup for the Sound City Players, an all-star band that will perform with Grohl in Utah on January 18 to celebrate the Sundance Film Festival premiere of his documentary, Sound City. Rock legends John Fogerty and Stevie Nicks will play the gig, along with Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic; Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen; Foo Fighters Chris Shiflett, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear and Nate Mendel; Rick Springfield; Rage Against the Machine's Brad Wilk; Slipknot's Corey Taylor and more.

Trent Reznor and co. have revealed that the new album from How To Destroy Angels will be called Welcome oblivion, and it is due from Columbia Records on March 5.
In related news, Rolling Stone reports that Reznor has been officially named Chief Creative Officer for the new music streaming service Daisy. Daisy is being created in collaboration with Dr. Dre's Beats Electronics. Former Topspin head Ian Rogers has been appointed CEO. Reznor recently revealed in an interview he was involved in the project.

The New York Times reports that Led Zeppelin's camp is in negotiations with multiple streaming music services to bring their catalog online. Exclusive rights to the Zep catalog of hits are up for grabs, with Spotify, Rdio, Rhapsody and Deezer all reportedly involved in the talks. A spokesperson for Warner Music Group said, "We’re excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Led Zeppelin to activate streaming rights for their catalog. We’re supportive of the band’s discussions with W.M.G.’s streaming service partners to create a window of exclusivity to maximize the impact of this launch." The entire Zeppelin catalog is being re-issued and re-mastered by Jimmy Page in the near future.

Lily Rose Cooper (formerly Lily Allen) has reportedly given birth to her second baby girl and named her Marnie. British tabloid The Sun reported that the singer had the baby on Tuesday night, and while Allen has not officially confirmed the report, she did write on Twitter: "Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. Thank you everybody." Speaking to NME in 2012 about her musical plans, Allen said: "I'm not going to put anything out until I've got an end product which I think's amazing... I don't think there's going to be anything out in the next few months. But hopefully in the next year."

CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother will air a Canadian-centric episode on February 4, guest starring a number of Canadian musicians. Rush's Geddy Lee, Barenaked Ladies' Steven Page, k.d. lang and Paul Shaffer are all set to appear on the episode, which will feature the return of Cobie Smulders' '90s teen-pop alter-ego "Robin Sparkles."

The Skate And Surf Festival is set to return to New Jersey after an eight-year hiatus. The fest will take place at the Plaza Green at iPlay America in Freehold, NJ on May 18-19, with A Day To Remember as headliners. Other acts on the roster include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Saves The Day, Bayside, Andrew W.K., Hopsin, Transit, Into It. Over It., Hostage Calm, Issues, Tyler Carter, and This Good Robot. Additional performers will be announced at a later date.
