On Wednesday night, Justin Timberlake set the Twitter-verse ablaze when he tweeted: "Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..." The news quickly spread as fans wondered what was to come - a new single, or possibly a whole album? As it turns out, when fans visit the site countdown.justintimberlake.com, a video begins to play showing Timberlake walking into a studio as the singer/actor explains why it has taken him so long to make a new album.
"I don't want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don't love," says Timberlake in the voiceover. "You just don't get that everyday. You have to wait for it." The video then ends with the singer stepping up to the mic and saying, "I'm ready." A countdown clock also indicates that something else will happen in three days.
Timberlake reportedly has been quietly working on a new album with producer Timbaland, and a source told Billboard that Timberlake is definitely releasing a new album sooner rather than later. His last studio effort, FutureSex/LoveSounds, came out in 2006 and has been certified four-times platinum.
