Sony Music Entertainment announces a pair of executive appointments to the Sony Music Entertainment Global Digital Business and U.S. Sales team. Ole Obermann is named EVP of Digital Partner Development and Sales. He was most recently SVP of International. Meanwhile, Mark Piibe is named EVP of Global Business Development and Digital Strategy. Piibe spent the last five years at EMI Music.
Universal Music Japan announces President/CEO Kazuhiko Koike assumes on the role of President/CEO of EMI Music Japan as well. Koike replaces longtime CEO Hitoshi Namekata. Namekata, meanwhile, has been appointed President of Universal Strategic Marketing and President of Classics and Jazz at Universal Japan.

Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment has reported its fiscal Q1 results, with consolidated revenue down five percent to $226.1 million (in Canadian dollars). Radio revenue for the quarter grew by one percent to $52.3 million Canadian.
Engadget has released its "Best In Show" awards for the 2013 CES, and the Ford AppLink Developer Program has won the "Best In Automotive" award. The Ford program's House Developer is Jacobs Media's jacAPPS. "Despite literally millions of gadgets and concepts at CES, the Ford program stands out because it levels the playing field for all apps, especially for radio stations," jacAPPS’ President Paul Jacobs commented. "It is exciting that Engadget recognized Ford’s innovative AppLink program, allowing any radio station to have a strong presence in its SYNC enabled vehicles."
