Cumulus Flips WRXP/NY To Country With "Nash FM 94.7"
January 21, 2013
After spending the weekend stunting with "the New York City Wheel Of Formats," Cumulus flipped WRXP (94.7 FM)/New York to Country at 9:47 a.m. this morning. The new "Nash FM 94.7" (as in "Nashville") brings the Country format back to the Big Apple. After playing a mash-up of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York," Jay-Z & Alicia Keys' "Empire State Of Mind" and other audio clips touting New York City, Nash FM launched with a mix of artist IDs from Country acts and debuted the new format. The first song on Nash FM was "How Country Feels" by Randy Houser, followed by Alan Jackson's "Gone Country."
On the station's website, Nash FM touts that it is "dedicated to bringing you the best, newest and most exciting country artists on the planet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We’re more than country – we’re Country for Life."
