Over the weekend, a number of musicians, including Katy Perry, Usher, John Legend and more, performed as part of the lead-up to Monday's inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama. The music continued Monday, with James Taylor singing "America the Beautiful," Kelly Clarkson singing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" following Obama's inaugural address, and Beyoncé closing out the ceremony with the national anthem.
As for the evening's inaugural balls, Jennifer Hudson took the spotlight, singing Al Green's classic "Let's Stay Together" for the Obamas' first dance of the evening. For Vice President Joe Biden's first dance with his wife Jill, Jamie Foxx sang a cover of Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You."
Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, fun. and Brad Paisley all performed at the inaugural balls last night as well. Keys notably changed the lyrics to her hit "Girl On Fire" to toast the Obamas, singing "He's the president and he's on fire/Obama's on fire."
