Paramore has unveiled the details of their first North American tour since 2010. The dates celebrate the release of the trio's new, self-titled album, which is due in stores on April 9. The band will hit the road beginning April 25 in Houston and then visit major markets across the continent through May 16 in New York, with more dates to be added shortly. Pre-sale tickets will be available by invitation only to members of Paramore's Fan Club and Singles Club starting on January 28 at 5 p.m. EST, with all remaining tickets then offered to the general public on February 1. The opening act for the trek will be alt-rock group Kitten, who are currently finishing up their full length debut for Elektra Records.
Meanwhile, Paramore's first all-new album in more than three years is heralded by the single "Now," which can be heard on the band's website. A companion video is now in post-production with a premiere date slated for mid-February.
"The whole making of this album was a rediscovering of ourselves as a band and as friends," Paramore wrote on their blog when announcing the new effort. "It was a process that allowed us the freedom to explore new territory artistically and to liberate ourselves as musicians, singers, as people! Sincerely, we feel that the best way to give it a name is just to call it what it is. This album is us."
