Todd von Mende has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Capitol Music Group, it was announced today by Chairman/CEO Steve Barnett, to whom von Mende will report. In his new position, von Mende will serve as a senior member of the company’s management team and oversee all financial strategy and functions for the Group and each of its divisions. He will also liaise with his counterparts and the senior financial team at Universal Music Group, Capitol’s parent company. He will be based in Hollywood, at the company’s iconic Capitol Tower.
Barnett commented, "Todd’s financial acumen and leadership skills have been highly regarded within the Universal Music Group for many years. I couldn’t be happier that he is now a member of my senior management team and will be playing such an important role in the growth and development of Capitol Music Group."

Prior to this promotion, von Mende served as CFO for Universal Music Group Distribution overseeing all financial activities, and most recently headed the North America EMI/UMG integration efforts. He joined UMG in 2001 as VP of North America Finance and Planning, where he was responsible for the financial management of all North American operations. Prior to UMG, he began his career as with The Walt Disney Company in the Home Entertainment division.
