Sylvia Rhone's Vested In Culture Makes Staff Appointments
February 7, 2013
Last week, Sylvia Rhone announced Vested In Culture (VIC) her new joint label venture with Epic Records. Now Rhone, who serves as Chairman/CEO of VIC, has announced her first three label appointments. She has named Margeaux Rawson as SVP of Operations, Amanda Berkowitz as VP of A&R, and Shaniqua Branch as Manager. All three New York-based appointees will report to Rhone.
Rawson was most recently SVP of Media Relations for Universal Motown Records, where she was responsible for developing and implementing media strategies for a roster of breakthrough, best-selling artists, including Kid Cudi, Akon, Kelly Rowland , Erykah Badu , Nelly, Melanie Fiona and many others. In her new role at VIC, Rawson will manage all aspects of the label's day-to-day operations and serve as a liaison between VIC and Epic.
Berkowitz started her career at Atlantic Records, where she rose from A&R Coordinator to A&R Manager while working with Grammy-nominated artists such as Wiz Khalifa , Lupe Fiasco, Sean Paul and Jaheim. She is responsible for signing VIC's rising Latin pop star Kat Dahlia and R&B singer-songwriter Deon Young.
Branch previously held administrative assistant positions at Warner Bros. Records and Atlantic Records. In her new post at VIC, she will provide executive administrative support to Rhone and oversee the label's day-to-day administrative operations.
