Josh Groban Scores His First #1 Debut
February 13, 2013

Josh Groban
Josh Groban has scored his first #1 debut on the sales chart this week as his latest album, All That Echoes, sold over 144,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is Groban's third chart-topping album, but it's his first to open at #1. His other albums that climbed to the top of the chart were 2003's Closer and 2007's Noël. At #2 on the chart is another new arrival: Tim McGraw's Two Lanes of Freedom, which sold 107,000 copies and marks his 15th Top 10 effort. The latest Now 45 compilation enters at #3 with 87,000 sold, marking quite a feat as all of the regular Now albums have reached the Top 10. Mumford & Sons' Babel, which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year on Sunday, jumps from #7 to #4 this week with 54,000 sold. At #5 is Andrea Bocelli's Passione, which shifted 51,000.

In the back half of the Top 10, Justin Bieber's Believe Acoustic falls to #6 with 43,000, and Rock band Red debuts at #7 with Release the Panic, selling just over 41,000 in its first week. This gives the group their second Top 10 album. Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox sits at #8 this week with just under 41,000 sold, and Coheed and Cambria's The Afterman: Descension bows at #9 with almost 41,000 as well. It's the band's fifth Top 10 set. Closing out the Top 10 is The Lumineers' self-titled album, which shifted another 39,000 units.

Next week's sales chart should show the full effect of the usual Grammy sales bump, after a full seven days' worth of impact from the show is measured.
