Quick Hits: Hangout Festival, The Rolling Stones, mtvU Woodie Awards, Portugal. The Man, Alvin Lee
March 7, 2013

The 2013 Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, AL has expanded its lineup, adding Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Stevie Wonder, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Imagine Dragons, Baauer and more. They join Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Kings Of Leon, Trey Anastasio Band, The Shins, Kendrick Lamar, Passion Pit, The Black Crowes and many, many more. The festival runs from May 17-19.

Rumors continue to circulate that The Rolling Stones will play the Glastonbury Festival in England this summer. The lineup has yet to be announced, but Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno mentioned to MTV News UK this week that the Stones will be playing. Pizzorno told MTV he hoped his own band would be a part of Glastonbury "because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury. I can imagine there will be a lot of people there waiting for them."

Tegan & Sara
Tegan & Sara and rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) will host the 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards, which take place next Thursday, March 14 during SXSW in Austin. The show will air on MTV and mtvU on March 17 in 8 p.m. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Twenty One Pilots will perform as part of the awards show. In a statement to Rolling Stone, Tegan & Sara said, "This will be our first time at the mtvU Woodie Awards, so we couldn't be more excited to be making our debut as co-hosts and nominees for the 'Tag Team Woodie' [for "Body Work," their collaboration with Morgan Page]. It's a good thing they got Machine Gun Kelly to step in as our tri-host, because no one else would be able to get a word in edgewise."

Indie rockers Portugal. The Man will release their new album Evil Friends, via Atlantic Records, on June 4. The album was producer by Danger Mouse and the video for the title track and lead single is now streaming on portugaltheman.com. The band has a handful of live dates announced for April, surrounding their sets at Coachella, as well as appearances at Bonnaroo and Governor's Ball in NYC.

Influential guitarist Alvin Lee has passed away at the age of 68, due to "unforeseen complications" from a routine surgery. Lee was the singer/guitarist for British Blues-rockers Ten Years After, whose performance of "I'm Going Home" was one of the major focuses of the famous Woodstock documentary. The band had four hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the late '60s and early '70s.
