Justin Timberlake joined the "Five Timers Club" on Saturday Night Live over the weekend as the multi-talented singer/actor/dancer served as both host and musical guest. In addition to comedy and music, Timberlake delivered to the show its best ratings in over a year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, preliminary numbers from Nielsen show a 5.9 rating with a 15 share. Those were the best numbers since a January 7, 2012 show hosted by Charles Barkley with musical guest Kelly Clarkson. Saturday night's figures also were up 23 percent from the previous week, when comedian Kevin Hart hosted and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed. Final numbers for the Timberlake episode will be released by Nielsen later in the week.
Millions of fans tuned in to watch JT join the five-times fraternity, which was highlighted in a sketch where he earned his special smoking jacket and hung out with luminaries like Steve Martin, Paul Simon, Chevy Chase, Alec Baldwin, Candace Bergen and Tom Hanks. He also reprised his role alongside Andy Samberg as the "Dick in the Box" singers, and did a singing and dancing endorsement for "Veganville."
JT's two musical numbers also were highlights, as he sang "Suit & Tie" with special guest Jay-Z, and also performed the new single "Mirrors." You can watch both performances below:
