Music streaming service Spotify could be moving into the video content industry, according to Business Insider. Sources tell the site that Spotify is planning to evolve into an on-demand service for both music and video content. The company would also invest in new, original content and position itself as a competitor to Netflix.
Business Insider's sources say that Spotify is currently looking for partners to help fund this expansion into original programming.
In other Spotify news, the service has launched its first-ever major ad campaign. The campaign, titled "For Music," began with a TV commercial airing during The Voice on NBC last night. CNet reports the campaign will include web and social media elements. You can see three Spotify ads via CNethere.
