One Direction
Movie director Morgan Spurlock did a Twitter Q&A this week about what fans can expect from the upcoming One Direction 3D movie, This Is Us. "More shirtless moments than you can imagine, now how many of those make it into the final film we'll have to wait and see. You can't film 1D without capturing their wild side!" Spurlock said during the Q&A. "And that fun attitude is infectious; it takes over the whole film crew." Filming has been taking place over the last four months, and will continue until the group lands in the States in June. The final product is due in August. Spurlock added, "The lads have been both in front of & behind the camera. They've been filming each other on the tour bus & on day's off; great footage. We spend a lot of down time with the band, with their families & friends. We really wanted you to see what their 'normal' lives are like."

Jimmy Eat World's seventh album, Damage, will be out on June 11 via their new label home of RCA. It was recorded with producer Alain Johannes in his Los Angeles home. "We used tape for the first time in a long time, as well as computer," singer/guitarist Jim Adkins told Rolling Stone of the recording process. "I hate saying more raw, but it's more raw and warm. We just set up all around Alain's house. There were instruments in his bedroom and drums in his living room. Just noise all day long. There was less an emphasis on it being clean and perfect. There's a lot of stuff that's more about the performance than it sounding pristine. And I think it feels better for what the songs are." Although no lead single has been determined, Damage's title track will be released on April 20 as a special Record Store Day seven-inch with a cover of Radiohead's "Stop Whispering" on the B-side. Jimmy Eat World also will support Damage with a world tour, which kicks off in May.

Rapper Kid Cudi announced Tuesday (April 2) on Power 106/Los Angeles that he is no longer a member of the Kanye West label G.O.O.D. Music. Cudi said this is strictly a business decision, and he stressed that there is no beef with anyone on the label. "Everything is peace with everybody on the label. There's never been any issues, but I am announcing that I'm no longer on G.O.O.D. Music," he explained. "And this is something that no one knows, really. I'm no longer on G.O.O.D. Music." Part of the issue is that Cudi was getting tired of reppin' the "clique," and he wants to go in a different direction, focusing on his own label and working with collaborator King Chip. "It's just I wanna focus on Wicked Awesome," Cudi said. "I wanna focus on Chip, and that's it. I don't wanna have, like, a full label of artists. I just wanna work on Chip and keep my sound going on a freight train."

The alternate version of The Beatles' album Let It Be is finally being released on the iTunes store, ten years after it's original release. The 11-track album, Let It Be…Naked, is without Phil Spector's contributions, and will also include around 20 minutes of bonus "studio banter" from the original 1969 recording of Let It Be. Apple is exclusively offering music videos for the "Naked" versions of "Get Back" and "Don't Let Me Down," available for free streaming and paid download. The album will not include the orchestral overdubs that Spector originally contributed in lieu of the band. At the original time of the Let It Be... Naked's release, Paul McCartney said that this version is a more raw and natural sound of the band. "If we’d had today’s technology back then," he said, "it would sound like this because this is the noise we made in the studio. It’s all exactly as it was in the room. You’re right there now."

Beyonce is about to release... something. No one is exactly sure what, but it's presumed to be a new music video and/or single. The singer released a six second teaser video of her flicking her wrist and "4.4.2013 9AM EDT #BeyHereNow" flashing onto the screen for half the length of the video. Tomorrow, April 4, also happens to be Beyonce and Jay-Z's five-year anniversary.

Stone Sour is premiering a full album stream of their forthcoming release, House Of Gold & Bones Part 2, via their website, www.stonesour.com. The album drops on April 9, and it is the second installment in the group's House of Gold & Bones two-part concept album, following a story written by singer Corey Taylor. "Part 2 is the exciting conclusion. You will hear darkness. You will hear reflections of Part 1. You will see what's next," Taylor said. "Most importantly, you will join the characters as they finally decide."

Old-school Punk rocker Tim Armstrong is going to be pulling double shifts this June. His bands Rancid and The Transplants, will be touring around North America. The tour currently has ten dates announced. Both bands will be releasing new albums; Rancid is currently recording their next album, their first since 2009 with the Let the Dominoes Fall, and The Transplants release their new album In a Warzone in May.

Richie Sambora, guitarist for Bon Jovi, will not be performing for the current stretch of the band's Because We Can tour. The announcement was made on the band's website, simply saying that it was due to "personal issues." The show, however, will continue to go on as scheduled without him. Sambora tweeted a few hours before the announcement, "Watching more of the 'Every Road Leads Home To You' cover videos" in reference to his solo album, Aftermath of the Lowdown.

Buckcherry have confirmed additional tour dates in support of their recently-released Confessions CD. After wrapping up the second leg of Kid Rock's Rebel Soul tour on April 6, Buckcherry will head overseas for shows in Australia and Japan. They will then return to the U.S. for an April 28 performance at Jacksonville, FL's Welcome To Rockville festival, followed by U.S. headlining dates and more festival appearances from May through July.
