Avril Lavigne Drops New Single About "Never Growing Up"

Avril Lavigne appeared on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated radio show this morning to talk about her new single, "Here's To Never Growing Up," which she dropped on Monday night. Lavigne wrote the song with her fiancé, Nickelback's Chad Kroeger.

"It's a pop rock tune. And it's just about being young, having fun, being present, living in the moment and that's what I love to do," Lavigne told Seacrest. "This is one of the newer tunes [we recorded]. It was me and four dudes and I wanted to write something really fun, like a summer song."

The boisterous tune is the lead single off her still-in-the-works album, which is due out this summer. The record is mostly unfinished at this point, but Lavigne revealed that it will have a "heavier song" with Marilyn Manson titled "Bad Girl," as well as a duet with Kroeger. She'll also have a tune called "Hello Kitty" about her love for the animated character.

"I love Hello Kitty so much there's a song on the record called 'Hello Kitty.' Pink is my favorite color," she explained. "I'm really excited about this song. I'm obsessed with Hello Kitty and it's really fun and the sound is different."

The pair also spoke a little bit about their upcoming nuptials, which Lavigne said will be "just a lot of close friends and family. It is smaller. It's gonna be quite spectacular and there's a theme to it. But Chad doesn't even know everything."
