Selena Gomez has announced plans for her Stars Dance World Tour, which will launch on August 14 in Vancouver. She'll then trek across the globe before bringing the show to the States on October 10 in Fairfax, VA, wrapping up on November 27 in St. Louis. On Monday, the singer spoke to Ryan Seacrest about the tour, saying that, "It's going to be a bigger show. I'm excited. I've been dancing a lot and I just want to entertain people... I kind of missed shows when it used to just be about the dancing and the performing as opposed to how big and elaborate the stage is, so I kind of want to get back to that." Gomez's new album is due sometime this summer. In other news, she is also scheduled to perform and present an award at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday, April 27 at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Rihanna has missed another show on her Diamonds tour, skipping Monday night's Houston performance due to an unidentified illness. Live Nation said in a statement that the Houston date is postponed, but not canceled. "Unfortunately, as a result of illness Rihanna is unable to perform this evening at Houston's Toyota Center. Fans are instructed to retain their tickets to this event pending rescheduled show date information," the statement reads. As of press time, Rihanna's Tuesday night show in Dallas was still scheduled to go on. The singer posted a message on Instagram that explains: "I was sick since San Diego! I kept working because I thought two days off after the Vegas show would be enough time to recover and I f**ked up, those were two days off from hell and today is not different! I'm sad and disappointed about it! I had all kinds of plans for Houston!"
The Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray as of May 21. The movie, which premiered at the London Film Festival in October, combines extensive historical footage with contemporary commentaries by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and former Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. Bonus features on the DVD and Blu-Ray include previously unreleased concert footage -- Live in Germany '65 -- a new interview with director Brett Morgen, footage from The Arthur Haynes Show in 1964, and the theatrical trailer.
Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard will release his second solo album, Moonlander, on June 25. "Songs from the album were recorded between 2003-2011," says Gossard. "Over the last year, I went through all of my old demos and recordings that weren’t used as Pearl Jam or Brad songs and picked my favorites. With the help of Floyd Reitsma (Studio Litho engineer), Pete Droge (Executive Producer), and Hans Teuber (multi-instrumentalist and long time HankKhoir collaborator) I went about trying to finish them. This included lots of re-singing tracks, fleshing out and re-editing, adding new instruments."
The fourth annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival is set for shows across North America from August 9 in Scranton, PA through September 15 in Irvine, CA. Look for this year's bands to be announced on April 22, and then tickets will go on sale April 25.
Ciara has re-titled her upcoming album. Originally called One Woman Army, the record is simply called Ciara now. “I started working on this record more than a year ago, and since then, I have found my creative clarity on the direction I wanted to go in. It was almost a whole surge of fresh energy, and I pushed myself to be even more creative," Ciara explained in a statement. "I’m more open to change. I’m learning so much of about myself, and I’ve become really comfortable and free. This album goes beyond my music. This time it's about taking a new journey with me" Ciara is available for pre-order via iTunes starting today.
