Samsung is leaving FM radio out of its Galaxy S4 smartphone. AndroidAuthority.com reports that previous Galaxy S phones had an FM radio reciever, but the new one does not due to a perceived lack of interest from the consumer. A statement from Samsung to Russian website Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru said, "Our studies show a trend shift of interest to digital broadcasting, specifically – focus on listening to music content in social networks or on the channel YouTube. The flagship model of our products are focused on customers who use digital content, which use modern formats and channels of information consumption."

Jelli has received its second patent, as the social music service now has U.S. Patent No. 8,413,189, "Dynamic selection of advertising content in a social broadcast environment." This patent describes methods related to determining advertising content to be included in a broadcast dynamically.
