Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath has expanded their 2013 tour dates into a full, 20-date North American trek that begins on July 25 in Houston. The tour is set to run through September 3 in Los Angeles. It comes in support of the band's new album, 13, which will drop on June 11. It will be the band's first album with frontman Ozzy Osbourne since 1978's Never Say Die!, however, original drummer Bill Ward sat out of the sessions due to a contract dispute. The new Sabbath song "God Is Dead?" recently premiered on radio, and another new cut, "End of the Beginning," will debut on the May 15 season finale of CSI.

Mariah Carey has posted on her website a 25-second teaser video for her new single, "Beautiful," featuring Miguel. The clip reveals only a slow guitar lick and a message that reads: "The new era begins," followed by May 6, 2013. The song will be the first new effort from Carey since "Almost Home," which appeared on the Great and Powerful Oz soundtrack. The singer has reportedly been working on a new album with a number of major producers, including Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Rodney Jerkins and Jermaine Dupri. It was also revealed that Good Morning America will kick off its 2013 Summer Concert Series with Carey, who will perform a free show in Central Park on May 24.

Lauryn Hill has posted an update on her Tumblr page in regards to her legal troubles for tax evasion, as well as her new record deal. "It has been reported that I signed a new record deal, and that I did this to pay taxes. Yes, I have recently entered into an agreement with Sony Worldwide Entertainment, to launch a new label, on which my new music will be released. And yes, I am working on new music," Hill wrote. The singer then goes on about the "conflict between art and commerce" before explaining, "It took years for me to get out of the 'parasitic' dynamic of my youth, and into a deal that better reflects my true contribution as an artist, and (purportedly) gives me the control necessary to create a paradigm suitable for my needs. I have been working towards this for a long time, not just because of my current legal situation, but because I am an artist, I love to create, and I need the proper platform to do so." Hill did not reveal in her post about when new music will be released.

Saturday Night Live has confirmed that Vampire Weekend and Kanye West will be the musical guests for the last two episodes of the season. Former cast member Kristen Wiig will host on May 11, with Vampire Weekend performing. Argo Oscar winner Ben Affleck will host the season finale, with West performing. There is the possibility that West could debut new songs from his next album, expected out later in 2013.

Details have been released on the Yahoo! On The Road tour, which is being described as "the world's first mobile entertainment and innovation festival." Musical performances will be streamed live for Yahoo! users everywhere at the Yahoo! On The Road site (http://ontheroad.yahoo.com). The tour begins in New York City on May 3 with John Legend & Salomé Chamber Orchestra and Ryan Leslie, then continues with Kendrick Lamar on May 7 in Cincinnati. The tour continues with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Skylar Grey on May 12 (Milwaukee); Fall Out Boy on May 13 (Madison, WI); Imagine Dragons and Owl City on May 15 (St. Louis); Empire Of The Sun and Gold Fields (May 20 in Dallas); Gossip, Capital Cities, Twenty One Pilots & Willy Moon together in Seattle on May 26; The Lumineers with Dispatch on May 28 (Boise) and fun. wrapping it up in San Francisco on May 31.

System of a Down singer Serj Tankian is independently releasing two albums this summer through his own Serjical Strike Records. Orca, Tankian's first true symphony, will be released on June 25. Then, a collaborative Jazz album called Jazz-iz Christ will be released on July 23. Upon completion of System of a Down's summer touring in August, Tankian will hang back in Europe until the commencement of his own solo orchestral tour dates that begin on September 19 in Kiev, Ukraine. The concert program will include all four acts of Orca, and will also incorporate performances of many songs from his 2010 album, Elect The Dead Symphony.
