Fleetwood Mac Unveils First New Music In 10 Years
April 30, 2013

Earlier this month at a show in Philadelphia, Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham told the audience that before the tour began, the band went into the studio to record some new material. That material has now surfaced as a four-song EP called Extended Play, which is available exclusively on iTunes. The EP contains the new tracks "Sad Angel," "It Takes Time" and "Miss Fantasy," penned by Buckingham. It also includes "Without You," a rediscovered and revamped track originally written by Stevie Nicks from the pair's Buckingham Nicks project. Extended Play is the band's first new studio material in 10 years, and Buckingham says that despite their long history, there is still new inspiration to be found.

"It's still evolving, and that's the beauty of it too. I've known Stevie since high school. We were a couple for many, many years, and we've been a musical couple forever," the guitarist told Rolling Stone in a recent interview. "After all this time you would think there was nothing left to discover, nothing left to work out, no new chapters to be written. But that is not the case – there are new chapters to be written."

Fleetwood Mac's North American tour is still underway. The remaining dates run from tonight (April 30) in Kansas City to June 26 in Des Moines, IA.
