On Friday, May 24, 95.5 ‘PLJ/New York's Scott & Todd kicks off its 16th Annual Summer Blast-Off Live from Jenkinson’s On the Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Confirmed acts for the show are Gavin Degraw, Ed Sheeran, Sara Bareilles and Mark Ballis. The fun goes from 6-10 a.m. and also includes the show's News/Entertainment/Gossip Reporter Cooper Lawrence, Channel 7’s Bill Evans and Monkey Boy. Admission is free.

At Modern Rock WBRU/Providence, RI, Eliza Soros replaces Olivia Petrocco as MD.

Following the recent proposal from investor Daniel Loeb that Sony Corp break up its divisions and spin off its Entertainment division, the company is reportedly considering the plan. Sources tell Japanese newspaper Nikkei that Loeb's plan will be brought before Sony's Board of Directors, according to Billboard.biz. Sony is expected to hire a financial adviser to study Loeb's plan.

Slacker has named John Hayase as Chief Product Officer. He will oversee the development of Slacker’s digital music service across the Web, smartphones, tablets, cars and consumer electronics devices. "Slacker is growing fast with millions of people listening every month - John is here to guarantee these listeners have an amazing experience across every platform, whether they’re listening for free or are paying subscribers," said Jim Cady, CEO of Slacker.
