Ten years after Jay-Z and Beyoncé first dueted on "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," the couple is together again on "Part II (On the Run)," a new track from Jay's forthcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Jay has released the lyrics to the song via the very same Samsung smartphone app that will be used to deliver the album on July 4. The lyrics address the love story between a good girl and a "bad guy." So far, Jay has dropped the words to "Holy Grail," "Heaven," "Oceans" and now "Part II (On the Run)," although fans have not heard any of the actual music.
The rapper also explains some of his rhymes to producer Rick Rubin in a teaser video, which can be seen below. A lot of the lyrics are inspired by his daughter, Blue Ivy, and Jay tells the producer that he fears his ability to be a good father since his own dad left him at a young age.
As reported yesterday, Jay also is trying to set up a performance on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. He is currently in the process of receiving approval from the city, and the show could happen on July 8, in conjunction with an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
