Report: Beats Streaming Service Negotiating Pricing
July 16, 2013
Last week, it was reported that Jimmy Iovine's Beats Electronics was in talks with AT&T (and other mobile carriers) to partner on the launch of the company's impending streaming music service. Now Beats is getting one step closer to its launch, as it is in talks for its subscription price, according to the New York Post.
The paper reports that Iovine is in talks for the service's pricing, which will be ad-free and reportedly $9.99/month or $14.99 for a family plan, according to the Post's sources. Executives at Beats are currently discussing how long to offer a free access period to users, before the service charges its monthly fee. According to CNet last week, Beats' potential deal with AT&T would offer consumers a period of free access to the service, with the goal of converting them to paid subscribers.
