Justin Timberlake
The 2013 Emmy nominations were announced this morning and Justin Timberlake has been nominated once again for his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live, in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. JT won in this category in 2009 and 2011. Other notable music-themed Emmy nods include the Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and The Voice for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. HBO's Phil Spector film was nominated for 11 Emmys, including Al Pacino for his portrayal of the legendary record producer. 12-12-12: The Concert For Sandy Relief was also nominated twice, while Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime performance is up for Outstanding Special Class - Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs, the same category as the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Attention copy editors and music writers everywhere: Billboard reports that Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name and actually hasn't gone by "Jay-Z" for two years. The man born Shawn Carter left the hyphen out of his name for his 2011 Kanye West team-up Watch The Throne, but apparently no one realized it. According to his label, the Rap superstar would like to be properly listed as "Jay Z" from now on.

SiriusXM will be expanding its play of Classic Rock Pink Floyd. Starting this month, the SiriusXM Deep Tracks channel will simulcast its Internet-based Pink Floyd Channel Monday through Friday from midnight to 1:00am ET, and for six hours on Sunday nights, starting at 6pm ET. They will also be bringing Pink Floyd's Internet channel over to its very own satellite station on channel 311 on the Lynx and Edge radios, and in select vehicles. "SiriusXM has been the home of the Pink Floyd Channel for some time and we’ve been happy there online.  However, now the channel is being expanded, which is great news as it means we’ll all be able to get it when we’re stuck in traffic," said Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters. "Reaching out in drive time, love it! It could even conceivably have an impact on road rage. Though I find as I grow older and wiser I am tending to rage less at all the cretins on the roads." The Pink Floyd Channel is curated by SiriusXM host Jim Ladd, a legendary DJ that has been interviewing Pink Floyd since they first visited the U.S. in 1979.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Karmin confirm their long-awaited full-length debut will be titled Pulses and is due out in September. "We want to call it Pulses because it's kind of like the honeymoon is over now," Nick Noonan said. "There's good and bad. It's not necessarily everything is happy-go-lucky tracks. There's also some serious stuff. There's definitely a lot more depth in it, which is something we've always felt we wanted to do." The duo will be on the road opening for the Jonas Brothers this summer.
