Daniel Kearney Named SVP/Market Manager For CBS Radio-L.A.

Daniel Kearney has been named SVP/Market Manager for CBS Radio-Los Angeles. The announcement was made by Dan Mason, CBS Radio President/CEO, to whom Kearney will report. Kearney will oversee all operations of the six station CBS-L.A. cluster. The appointment is effective as of Tuesday, September 3.
CBS Radio-L.A. consists of News KNX-AM, CHR KAMP, Adult Hits KCBS, Modern Rock KROQ, Classic Hits KRTH and AC KTWV. Kearney will work closely with SVP/Director of Sales Peter Bowen and SVP of Programming Kevin Weatherly.
"Dan is an accomplished broadcaster and exactly the right executive to shape a new future for our iconic radio stations in Los Angeles," said Mason. "He has an impressive record of experience managing the operations of a multitude of different radio formats, producing noteworthy growth across all key measures. Danís a fabulous addition to our organization."
Kearney has spent over two decades in the radio industry, and was most recently VP/Market Manager for Cox Media Group in Miami. He joined Cox in 1998 as Local Sales Manager for KFI-AM/Los Angeles where he worked for nearly two years before transferring to Atlanta to take on the GSM role for Coxís largest station, WSB-AM. Kearney spent close to 13 years in Atlanta leading sales for WSB-AM (1999-2005), and later taking on GM responsibilities for WSB-FM and WBTS (2005); WSRV (2006-08) and WSB-AM (2008-09). In April 2009, he was named VP of Sales/Co-Market Manager for the four station cluster. He was named VP/Market Manager in July 2010.
