This has become a bi-weekly Top 40 chart event with Interscope Geffen A&M, as the label continues to flex its chart muscle and dominance. In the most recent published Mediabase Top 40 chart, IGA has now captured the entire upper half of Top 40’s Top 10! In one through five sequence are: Robin Thicke "Blurred Lines," Zedd "Clarity," Maroon 5 "Love Somebody," ImagineDragons "Radioactive," and entering the Top 5 for the first time is Calvin Harris/EllieGoulding "I Need Your Love" (co-worked with Columbia Records).
In addition to claiming the Top 5 chart positions, IGA has three more songs in the Top 20: Lana Del Rey "Summertime Sadness" (the week’s #1 Spin Gainer) grabs #11, the week’s #2 Spin Gainer Lady Gaga "Applause" settles in at #17, while Phillip Phillips "Gone Gone Gone” checks in at #20. Next in line is Robin Thicke "Give It 2 U" f/Kendrick Lamar which impacts radio on Tuesday, August 27, and is already at #33.
Raising the chart bar has become routine for the IGA promo staff as the summer of 2013 is certain to go down as one of the proudest periods of time in the label’s history. Repeat accolades to Brenda Romano, Chris Lopes, Mark Neiter, Greg Marella and the entire IGA Pop Promo staff.
In recent weeks, Interscope Geffen A&M nabbed the top four songs on Mediabase's Top 40 chart and prior to that, held three of the top four songs on the Top 40 Chart and five songs in the Top 10, with hits on the Hot AC, Alternative, Triple A & Rhythmic Top 40 charts as well.
