Quick Hits: Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Travie McCoy, Eminem, Guinness World Records, Taylor Swift & Jennifer Lopez, Saturday Night Live, R. Kelly
September 9, 2013

Over the weekend, Britney Spears used Twitter to tease fans from the set of her new video. On Saturday night she tweeted, "Hot day on set... ;) A little dirty, little flirty, danced my ASS off. Stoked for tomorrow!" On Sunday, she followed it up with a photo of herself wearing a skimpy blue bikini and towering black heels, along with the message: "Gonna get my tan on in the desert in between shots on the #WorkBitch set today. It's HOT out here people!!!! #desert #heatwave #WorkBitchDay2." "Work Bitch" is presumably the lead single off Brit's forthcoming eighth album. On September 17 the singer is slated to make some kind of big announcement, plus she will appear on Good Morning America that day.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga gave a Wizard of Oz-themed performance on Good Morning America this morning, even featuring her real dog, Fozzi, in the role of Toto. Gaga started out by singing "Over the Rainbow" to the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man, who would later prove to be her back-up dancers. She dressed as Dorothy and Glinda the Good Witch during the performance, but later stripped down to her black "Applause" leotard to perform the new single. After the live set, Gaga was asked by GMA about why she wanted to pay homage to the classic movie. "I think it really is an explanation, in a way, for my entire career so far, even with the VMAs performance and then the transformations that were happening today," she said. "It's like my way of saying all of these outfits and all of these wigs that I have been changing in all of these years, this is my way of assimilating and this is my way of surviving. This is my way of getting to Oz, of getting to Oz to have all my dreams come true."

Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy released a new solo cut today called "Rough Water (Feat. Jason Mraz)." The song can be heard at
www.traviemccoy.com and is available now at all digital retailers. The new single finds McCoy reuniting with hit-making producer Benny Blanco, who collaborated with Gym Class Heroes on the hit "Stereo Hearts (Feat. Adam Levine)." McCoy's next full length solo album is expected to come out next year.

Eminem premiered a teaser clip of his new video for "Berzerk" during the ESPN broadcast of the Michigan vs. Notre Dame football game Saturday night, before dropping the whole video on Vevo today. The video features an array of guests, including Kendrick Lamar, Rick Rubin and Kid Rock. The track is from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, due out November 5. Check out the video below:

The 2014 Guinness World Records book will feature a number of achievements from Pop stars. Taylor Swift has now established a record for "First Solo Female with Two Million-Selling Weeks on the U.S. Albums Chart," according to People. And Justin Bieber will be listed twice for "Youngest Solo Artist to Have Five U.S. No. 1 Albums" and "Youngest Musician with a Music Channel Viewed Three Billion Times." One Direction earns a Guinness honor for "Most Twitter Followers for a Pop Group," and Rihanna is recognized as the "Most 'Liked' Person on Facebook."

E! News confirms that Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez are set to collaborate on a track for J.Lo's next album, which is due out early next year. There are no details about the type of song these two are planning to create together, but the deal was reportedly finalized after Lopez came out onstage with Swift at her final Red Tour show in Los Angeles on August 25, where they sang "Jenny From the Block" together.

Saturday Night Live has announced the first three shows of its fall season, and the show will open with Arcade Fire and Tina Fey rocking the first episode on September 28. Miley Cyrus will double as the host and musical guest on October 5, and Katy Perry will play on October 12 with host Bruce Willis.

R. Kelly's next album, Black Panties, has been set for a release date of November 11. The singer recently revealed the album's release during a listening session in Atlanta with Revolt TV. "Some people are talented, and some people are gifted," Kelly said at the premiere. "I'd like to be known as one of those people who is gifted. I took tragedy and somehow turned it into triumph." Over the summer, he released the first single from Black Panties, "My Story" featuring 2 Chainz.
