Singer/songwriter Jack Johnson scores his fourth #1 album on the sales chart this week, as From Here to Now to You bows atop the list with 117,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The new effort is his third consecutive album to debut at #1, following Sleep Through the Static in 2008 and To the Sea in 2010. His soundtrack to the film CuriousGeorge also opened at #1 in 2006. Country music also is hot on the chart this week as Justin Moore debuts at #2 with Off the Beaten Path, selling 97,000, and fellow Country artist Chris Young opens at #3 with A.M., shifting 53,000.
In the #4 slot this week is the compilation MMG: Self Made 3, entering the chart with just over 50,000. The Maybach Music Group release features verses from Meek Mill, Wale, Rick Ross and others. EDM king Avicii is at #5 with True, opening with 50,000 copies sold. This marks the biggest bow for a solo EDM artist's first studio album, according to Billboard.com.
Meanwhile, Luke Bryan's Crash My Party is #6 this week with 47,000; 2Chainz's B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME is #7 with 35,000; Keith Urban's Fuse is #8 with 31,000; and The Weeknd's Kiss Land is #9 with 26,000. The final new debut comes from another Country artist, Billy Currington, whose We Are Tonight debuts in the #10 slot with 26,000 units sold.
