Concord Music Group announces two new additions to its Promotion Department: VP of Promotion Karen Durkot and Senior Director of National Promotion Howard Frank.
Durkot joins the Concord family from ADA Promotion where she served as a Senior Director of Triple A Promotion. Her previous experience includes a position at CO5 Country, as well as all format positions at Def American, Geffen, Hollywood and Elektra Records. She is based in New York.
Based in Nashville, Frank comes to Concord Music Group after a two-year stint at Sony/Red Entertainment. Prior to that, Frank worked over 17 years for Warner Music Group. In his new position, Frank rises from regional to national promotion.
Durkot and Frank will be responsible for all-format promotion and will report to Concord Music Group SVP of Radio and Video Promotion Jill Weindorf.
Weindorf states, "I couldn’t be happier to announce the addition of two amazing promotion veterans to the Concord Music Group family. Karen Durkot brings a fierce love of music and deep industry relationships to the table. She is one of the most respected promotion people in the business and we’re thrilled to have her on the team. Howard Frank has already begun making me look good! His infectious energy and promotion chops are second to none. Howard is a creative, diligent, dedicated team player who has already bolstered our team to new heights."
Concord Music Group Senior Director of Urban Formats Rick Nuhn, and National Promotion Coordinator/Dance Music Specialist Darnell Gamble, both based in Los Angeles, remain in their current positions.
In related news, Concord Music Group Senior Director of National Promotion David Einstein has voluntarily left the company to pursue other interests. Weindorf says, "Dave Einstein is one of a kind. On behalf of the entire Concord family, I’d like to personally thank him for his incredible contribution to the company and his enduring friendship along the way. His illustrious music business career speaks for itself. I couldn’t be prouder to call him my friend and associate and wish him well in all future endeavors."
