Justin Bieber says he will be unveiling new songs every week for the next ten weeks, as part of a "Music Monday" series. Bieber announced his plans on Twitter, saying the series will start with "Heartbreaker," a new track that will be unveiled Sunday at midnight. MTV News reports that the countdown of songs will culminate with a new documentary on the Pop star, expected out at Christmastime.
Chris Brown posted a video Wednesday of the singer in the studio, recording with a number of artists, but most notably Drake. Brown and Drake famously had an altercation in 2012, where their respective crews got in a fight in a New York nightclub. The video begins with the introduction, "In the studio: Breezy spends lots of time in the studio and loves hangin' and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Drake, the Game and JustinBieber." Brown recently said his long-delayed album X would be released on November 19, but a rep told MTV News that X still has no confirmed release date.
Special "drive-in" listening parties in New York and Los Angeles have been announced for Paul McCartney's upcoming album New. The first 400 cars to park at the Vineland Drive-In in L.A. on Sunday, October 6 at 7:30 p.m. will be able to hear all of New by tuning their radios to a specific FM frequency. A pair of similar events will take place at the Audi dealership on 55th St. & 11th Ave. in NYC that night at 7 p.m. and again at 8 p.m., for just 100 cars. New is due out October 15. Sir Paul also answered questions via Twitter this morning, tackling a wide range of topics from fans.
Black Sabbath will release a live concert DVD celebrating their 2013 tour, titled Black Sabbath: Live...Gathered In Their Masses, on November 26. The DVD, which will also be released in different configurations on Blu-ray and CD, was filmed in Australia on April 29 and May 1. These were Sabbath's first Australian concerts since 1974. A deluxe box set will also be released.
The Dead Weather, Jack White's band with Alison Mosshart of The Kills, has announced a series of two-song singles, which the group will release on White's Third Man Records between now and 2015. A new Dead Weather album is expected out that year, compiling many of the singles with other new tracks. The first single, "Open Up (That's Enough)" and "Rough Detective," will be released in December as part of Third Man's Vault subscription series.
