As expected, Twitter is launching its IPO and the social media service hopes to raise up to $1 billion from the stock offering. With the announcement, the company also revealed it made $317 million in revenue in 2012 and $253.6 million in the first six months of 2013. The service also currently has 215 million active users. Twitter also said that 75 percent of it users were via mobile in Q2 and that 65 percent of its revenue was via mobile ads. It plans to trade on the stock exchange under the symbol TWTR.

WMG's Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA) division has announced the appointment of Anthony Iovino as Senior Director of Promotion. He joins after almost eight years spent running his own marketing and promotion company, OneUp Entertainment. Iovino will be working the CHR and Rhythm formats—immediately handling new music from Goodie Mob and Danny Brown—and will report to Tyson Haller, ADA VP of Promotion & Label Services.
