Pearl Jam has entered in to a partnership with Fox Sports that will include extensive use of 48 Pearl Jam songs across the promotional and music beds for this month's World Series coverage, Billboard.com reports. The deal includes all 12 tracks from Pearl Jam's new album, Lightning Bolt, plus 36 songs from the band's back catalog. The songs will be featured in all types of music beds during the World Series, from opening teases and commercial bumpers to montages, as well as additional promotional spots across Fox prime-time and cable networks throughout the month of November.
U2 bassist Adam Clayton was interviewed on Irish radio station 98 FM, where he told the Dermot and Dave show that the band is currently perfecting 12 songs for a new album. "We are still at it. We hope to have it finished very, very soon. And it will be out, oh... sometime early next year," Clayton said. "But it's a very exciting bunch of songs right at the moment. It's just about to be finished, so it's hard to know which way they'll go." Clayton added that, "I think it's a bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years."
Paramore is set to launch a tour next week, and the band hopes it will be a game-changer for them in terms of being a live band. "We're so excited, like, I can't even express how excited we are," singer Hayley Williams told MTV News. "We're going all over the country, and it's the biggest production we've ever put together, it's the longest set list; we've been planning it since we were making the album, so it's been a long time coming. It's our first time in arenas in the states, we're going to get to hang with friends and party and celebrate the album." The trek is set to run from October 15 in Seattle to November 27 in Atlanta.
Nickelback will be releasing The Best of Nickelback Volume 1 on November 19 via Roadrunner Records. The collection features 19 tracks, such as the hits "Photograph," "How You Remind Me," "Rockstar," "Burn It To the Ground," "Far Away," "If Everyone Cared" and many more.
