Shawn "Tubby" Holiday Joins Columbia Records As SVP Of Urban A&R

Shawn "Tubby" Holiday joins Columbia Records as SVP of Urban A&R. Holiday was previously SVP of A&R at RCA Records since 2011. Holiday will report to President Ashley Newton and will work out of Columbiaís Los Angeles office. Holiday has worked with such critically acclaimed artists as Akon, T.I., Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson and RobinThicke, among others.
"Tubby has an impeccable reputation in Urban music and, with his profound knowledge & deep relationships in the genre, I have no doubt that he will be an impact hire for us," noted Newton. "We are thrilled that he is joining the Columbia family."

Holiday previously held the role of SVP/Head of Urban A&R at Interscope Records from 2005 to 2011 and played an instrumental role in the success of KeyshiaColeís first album in addition to creating hit projects by 50 Cent, The Game and Diddy, among others. Holiday also went on to engineer Interscope Records' label partnership with Akonís Konlive Records, which includes multi-platinum superstar Lady Gaga. In 2011, he was appointed SVP of A&R at RCA Records and Sony/ATV and worked closely with Clive Davis on such renowned artists as Jennifer Hudson and Santana. Holiday continues to work in his consultancy role with Sony/ATV.
