CBS hasannounced that beginning January 2014, CBS Sports Network will simulcast Boomer & Carton, the popular morning show broadcast on CBS Radio’s WFAN-AM/FM. The four-hour morning show is hosted by NFL ON CBS studio analyst Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton live Monday-Friday from 6-10 a.m., ET.
Billboard.com reports that Thomas Hesse is leaving Bertelsmann at the end of year. The German media conglomerate, which owns BMG, issued a statement confirming that its supervisory board met today and Hesse will be released from his role at the company on December 31, 2013. The company said Hesse's responsibilities will be handled by current Chairman and CEO Thomas Rabe, though Hesse will continue to serve the board in an advisory role.
FMQB offers condolences to the family and friends of industry vetJerry Boulding on his recent passing following a short illness. He was 75. Boulding's career included being one of the Soul Brothers on WOL/Washington, DC and also saw him work at WWRL/New York, WVON/Chicago, KDIA/San Francisco, WCHB/Detroit and WHB/Kansas City. Boulding also developed the satellite radio format, Heart & Soul, was SVP of Entertainment for American Urban Radio Networks and also worked on the record side where he headed up the black music division at MCA. Additionally, he co-founded the radio trade publicationBlack Radio Exclusiveand started Urban Network Magazine. Boulding most recently was the Urban/Urban AC Editor at All Access.
