December 2, 2013
The Killers have released their annual holiday single, "Christmas in L.A.," and this year's song features back up vocals from Dawes. It also boasts a part-animated, part-live action companion video that stars Owen Wilson as "a struggling actor in L.A. who misses the traditional Christmas," frontman Brandon Flowers explained to the U.K.'s Metro. Fans can purchase "Christmas in L.A." via iTunes and all proceeds from the song go to support Product (RED)'s fight against AIDS.
Grouplove has unveiled the details for their first headlining U.S. tour of 2014. The cross-country trek will kick off on March 20 in Cincinnati and run until May. Support comes from MS MR, Smallpools, and Alex Winston.
Lil Kim keeps delaying the release of her new mixtape, Hard Core 2K 13, but to make up for it, she did offer fans a list of songs and guest stars via Twitter. "I just want to make U guys happy. please standby. #HARDCOREPLAYLIST 3 bonus tracks included," the rapper tweeted, along with a picture of the 13-song tracklist. One of those bonus tracks is none other than "Bad Bitch" featuring Miley Cyrus. Other guests include Jadakiss, French Montana and Yo Gotti.
The Pixies already have parted ways with recently-added bassist Kim Shattuck, who is known for her work with The Muffs and The Pandoras. Shattuck broke the news on Facebook, writing: "Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone." Shattuck replaced founding bassist Kim Deal, who recently made the decision to exit the band.
The ARIA awards were handed out in Sydney, Australia on Sunday night, where Tame Impala won trophies for Best Group, Album of the Year, and Best Rock Album for Lonerism. One Direction was named Best International Artist, and '70s/'80s hitmakers Air Supply were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
