Britney Spears Talks New Album, Working With Katy Perry
December 5, 2013
Britney Spears' new album Britney Jean arrived in stores this week, and the singer had help from another Pop star on the track "Passenger," which was co-written by Katy Perry. However, Spears tells MTV News the pair didn't actually sit down together to create the song. "We actually didn't get in the studio together," Spears told MTV. "My people and her people worked it out, but I'm a huge fan of hers. I think she's an amazing vocalist and she has a beautiful voice," she added. "And I love the song. From the moment I heard the song, I was like, 'This is really beautiful.' So I was really proud I was able to do it."
Much of the new album was inspired by her breakup from former fiancé Jason Trawick and Spears said, "Basically, what [the tracks are] talking about, your love is gone [but] you'll never forget it. The time goes by and time heals, and all those wonderful beautiful breakup things that you say."
In another interview with Extra, Spears spoke to Mario Lopez about her Las Vegas residency, describing it as "ten more times more dancing and it’s more aspects of, like, more props and more gags. We use that to bring it more to life, make it really exciting." The two-year residency at Planet Hollywood begins on December 27.
