NextRadio and TagStation have released another update on the FM Radio app for smartphones and its increased growth. Last month, TagStation reported NextRadio's app had been downloaded 75,000 times, with 5,100 FM stations tuned in through the app. Now TagStation says the app has over 83,000 downloads, with more than 1,000 more every day. Over 5,500 FM stations have now been tuned into via the app, with more than 43,000 hours of listening, up from 33,000 hours of listening (or over two million minutes),
The new blog post also notes that NextRadio has a 32 percent retention rate when it comes to users who have returned to the app within 30 days of its first use. Also, the average user retention rate for those who have had the full NextRadio experience was 10 percent higher. TagStation's data also shows that not only were more full experience users still active 30 days later, but they had 32 percent more listening sessions and 25 percent longer sessions when they tuned into the app.
Additionally, of the people who have opened and used the app at least once, if they’ve spent as little as five minutes listening to a station, the average 30-day user retention rate makes a 40 percent jump (from 13 percent to 55 pecent).
