Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Earn Sales Awards

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has unveiled its October and November Gold & Platinum album certifications, and the list is full of familiar names. Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 is now certified both Gold & Platinum for selling more than one million copies in less than two months. The album's 1 of 2 counterpart is currently certified 2x Platinum. Rap duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis scored their first Platinum album award for The Heist, while their song "Thrift Shop" soared to 7x multi-Platinum for over 7 million in sales. Their other singles, "Can't Hold Us" and "Same Love," secured 4x multi-Platinum and 2x multi-Platinum, respectively.
Fleet Foxes and Jake Owen also took home their first Gold album awards this fall. The Gold plaques went to 2008's Fleet Foxes and 2011's Barefoot Blue Jean Night, respectively. Detroit rapper Big Sean, pop-country songstress Cassadee Pope and Norwegian musical comedy act Ylvis each earned their first Gold digital single awards. Big Sean got his for "Beware," Pope for "Wasting All These Tears." and Ylvis for "The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)."
Meanwhile, Jay Z continued his dominance by earning 10 separate song awards this fall. He scored a 4x multi-Platinum plaque for "Ni**as In Paris" with Kanye West, a 2x multi-Platinum for "Holy Grail," Platinums for "Dirt Off Your Shoulder," "Big Pimpin'" and "Swagga Like Us," plus Golds for "Show Me What You Got," "03' Bonnie & Clyde," "Can I Get A...," "Gotta Have It" and "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)."
