Duncan Orrell-Jones is named CEO of Slacker Radio. Orrell-Jones, who starts his new gig on February 10, joins from the SVP of Network Business post at Nintendo Of America.
"I’m excited to welcome Duncan to Slacker Radio and look forward to working with him to lead the company into its next stage of growth," stated Slacker board member Jim Cady. "Slacker has built a powerful service that blends the art of human-curated radio with the science of streaming. We attracted more than 21 million new listeners in 2013, and it’s an ideal time to bring in someone of Duncan’s caliber to take Slacker's business to the next level."
Orrell-Jones added, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead Slacker Radio in what promises to be its most exciting period of growth. There’s a tremendous opportunity to build on Slacker's momentum with consumers, its strong technology platform, and its suite of billing and distribution partners across wireless carriers, automotive manufacturers, and consumer electronics devices."
