L&L Broadcasting Names Bill McElveen EVP-Southern Region
February 18, 2014

L&L Broadcasting of Portland, OR announces Bill McElveen as EVP of the Southern Region. In that capacity, McElveen will oversee markets including: Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi; Bluefield, West Virginia; Columbia, South Carolina; Jackson, Mississippi; and Savannah, Georgia/Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

McElveen joined L&L Broadcasting in September 2013 as Interim Market Manager of the company’s Columbia, SC station group. Prior to that he was a Regional President for Citadel Broadcasting; EVP of Bloomington Broadcasting; and President & CEO of Audubon Broadcasting Company.

McElveen served as Chairman of the Radio Board of the National Association of Broadcasters from 1998-2000. He currently serves on the NAB Board as Director of District 6 (NC-SC) and as a Trustee of NAB's Political Action Committee, NABPAC, to which he was recently elected co-chair.

Larry Wilson, Chairman of L & L Broadcasting commented on the announcement, “We’ve known Bill McElveen for many years as a great partner in the old Citadel, his amazing work with the NAB, his work with the South Carolina Broadcasters and now as Co-Chairman of NABPAC. We couldn’t be happier having him join us to super-serve our great people doing great radio in these five markets.”

“I’m counting on Bill’s stellar track record, exceptional people skills and thorough knowledge of nuances and opportunities existing in our southernmost markets to help grow audience, develop live and local content and involvement and assist our staffs in becoming the go-to source for radio advertising that is different than the ‘big-box radio stores,’” remarked L & L Broadcasting President, Bob Proffitt.

McElveen said, "I'm thrilled about the opportunity to work again with two of broadcasting's best, Larry Wilson and Bob Proffitt. The company they are building represents everything great about live and local radio and I look forward to helping them every way I can as L&L continues to grow."
