Quick Hits: Puff Daddy, Passenger, Becky G & Katy Perry, M.I.A., Wolfmother, David Gray
March 25, 2014

Sean "Diddy" Combs is going back to the moniker Puff Daddy for the release of his new album. Puff Daddy has already dropped a teaser trailer for his new single, "Big Homie," and the full song will be released on March 31. The new album does not yet have a release date, but it will be his first solo endeavor since 2006's Press Play.

Passenger's hit song "Let Her Go" is still going strong on the charts, but British singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg is already set to release a new album in June. Passenger's new set, Whispers, is due on June 10 via Nettwerk. "It's quite cinematic. There are lots of big stories and big ideas," Rosenberg says of his new material. "There are also some somber moments about loneliness and death but, hey, it wouldn't be a Passenger album without those. Mostly though, it's a really positive album." Fans will get their first taste of new music when Passenger debuts "Scare Away the Dark" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 28.

Rapper/singer/songwriter Becky G has been tapped to open four shows for Katy Perry on her Prism tour. Becky and Katy will put on two shows in Houston on October 10 and October 11, then head to Monterrey, Mexico on October 14 and Mexico City three days later.

M.I.A. has announced a string of U.S. tour dates this summer along with A$AP Ferg. The trek commences in Washington, DC on April 27 and runs through an appearance at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington State on May 24. The tour comes in support M.I.A.'s latest album, Matangi.

Australian trio Wolfmother took fans by surprise on Sunday when they unexpectedly dropped their third album, New Crown, via their Facebook page, linking to a Bandcamp account where fans can buy the 10-track album or stream it in full. The band is still fronted by longtime singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale, along with newer members, bassist/keyboardist Ian Peres and drummer Vin Steele.

David Gray has announced that he will be returning to the United States for a select run of tour dates this spring. Tickets go on sale on March 28 for the eight-city outing, which runs from April 24 in Los Angeles to May 4 in Toronto. In addition to the tour, Gray has plans to release a new album in 2014, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
