Quick Hits: Coldplay, Gwen Stefani, Enrique Iglesias & Pitbull, Haim
April 30, 2014

Coldplay has unleashed yet another new song called "A Sky Full of Stars," which is the official second single from the album Ghost Stories, due on May 19. "A Sky Full of Stars" is a collaboration with EDM star Avicii and the song will be availabe to purchase digitally beginning on May 3. Meanwhile, Coldplay will return as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on May 3, and perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 6. Coldplay: Ghost Stories, an hour-long television special blending recent live performance footage with 360-degree imagery, also will air on NBC on Sunday, May 18.

In a brief e-mail to fans, Gwen Stefani confirmed the poorly-kept secret that she will join The Voice for its next season. "Gwen Stefani has been named as a coach on season seven of NBC's The Voice," reads the e-mail sent by her label, Interscope Records. "Tune in Monday, May 5 at 8pm/7c to see Gwen perform her No.1 single "Hollaback Girl" from her debut solo album, Love. Angel. Music. Baby." Stefani will take over the judge's chair from Christina Aguilera, who announced back in February that she’d be taking time off from the show to focus on her second pregnancy. Pharrell Williams also will be a new judge on The Voice, filling in for Cee Lo Green.

Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull have announced dates for their fall co-headlining tour. The 15-city trek kicks off on September 12, in NewarkNJ, and will run through October 22, in Hollywood, FL. Colombian singer J Balvin will be the supporting act on all dates.

Haim has added three new headline shows to their current sold-out North American tour. The trio will stop in their hometown of Los Angeles for two shows at The Wiltern on August 7 and 8, and they'll head to Seattle for a show at The Paramount Theatre on August 15. A fan club pre-sale will be available via CrowdSurge on April 30, followed by local pre-sales on May 1 and a general on-sale on May 2.
