Eminem is set to become the first rapper to headline London's Wembley Stadium. He will play the iconic 90,000-seat venue on July 11, and tickets go on sale May 9. Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Slim Shady said the Wembley date was a back-up plan after he original hoped to play an outdoor show at London's Hyde Park. "I heard that I wasn't going to be approved to play in Hyde Park and it made me even more excited to play in London this summer," Em said. "The easiest way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it. Thanks to the Royal Parks for making it all possible… for Wembley."
Jack White will release an "Ultra" vinyl edition of his new solo album, Lazaretto, and it has plenty of unique features. Two hidden tracks will be pressed under the center label on both sides, and they'll play at 78 RPM on Side A and 45 RPM on Side B. The opening track of Side B, "Just One Drink," was cut with two grooves, so that depending on where one drops the needle, it will play either the song's electric or acoustic intro before converging to meet the rest of the song. Furthermore, there will be a hologram of a spinning angel set in the dead wax area of Side A. The special edition vinyl will also feature a completely different track sequence from the digital or CD version, as well as alternate mixes of certain cuts. Lazaretto is due on June 10 via Third Man Records and Columbia Records.
Two dates of Lady Gaga's artRAVE: the ARTPOP ball tour have been shifted around thanks to the NBA playoffs. The concert originally scheduled for May 15 in Washington, DC has been rescheduled for May 12 to allow for a potential Game 6 between the Washington Wizards and the Indiana Pacers. Gaga's Philadelphia date swaps with DC and is rescheduled for May 15. "We apologize to Lady Gaga and to her fans for any inconvenience in having to reschedule her shows in Philadelphia and Washington," said SVP and GM of DC's Verizon Center, David Touhey. "We also want to thank her and her fans for their flexibility and understanding. Lady Gaga has been extremely accommodating in working with us to reschedule her tour date given the Wizards potential playoff game, and we are looking forward to her show."
Cher has contributed vocals to two songs on Wu-Tang Clan's upcoming "secret album," The Wu - Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. Cher's rep confirmed the news to Rolling Stone and explained, "She recorded her parts separately, so I don't believe there was direct interaction." Wu-Tang plans to press only one copy of the album and sell it to the highest bidder. It will be housed in an ornate container carved in nickel silver, which was handcrafted over three months by 10 artists. "We're about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before," RZA told Forbes in March. "We're about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We're making a single-sale collector's item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king."
