AirKast Announces Sales & Marketing Partnership with Compass Media Networks

AirKast announced today that, effective immediately, Compass Media Networks will serve as the company's national advertising representative and marketer for AirKast's mobile services and applications to publishers, including radio and television stations.

AirKast supports over 3,000 mobile apps that are launched over 20 million times per month. More than 1,100 radio and television stations use AirKast's mobile platform and technology to publish their streaming audio, and on-demand audio and video content on all the leading device platforms (Apple iOS, Google Andorid, and Amazon Kindle). "Mobile is the next frontier for radio and television, and it is paramount that stations have a powerful mobile platform that can effectively monetize their programming," said Simon Moy, AirKast's Chief Operating Officer. "We are thrilled to partner with Compass Media Networks, who will now drive our national sales and deliver additional revenue for our affiliate partners."

Mobile media consumption continues to be one of the fastest growing segments of consumer media as evidence by the fact that 94% of America now own smartphones and earlier this year, according to ComScore, mobile apps overtook PC usage. Apps now make up 47% of internet traffic vs. 45% for PC traffic.
